Avoiding the patchwork of apps - Can an all-in-one portal work in a law college?

Imagine you could smash all the apps you use at a law college into a single portal.  What would it take to complete the project?  What would be included? And what would be the benefits? Our project's origins go back over a decade—and it has evolved over the years in response to feedback, changes in teaching methods, technology, and data gained by actual usage.  Now, with the current IT team at the University of Tennessee College of Law, we are closer than ever to achieving an all-in-one law college portal.

At the University of Tennessee College of Law the technology deparment has developed a portal that provides many of the apps a law college uses.  To list a few, the portal provides facutly with a place to manage their courses, take attendance, give quizzes, and many other tools.  Students bid for courses, receive assignments, track time, and stay updated on college events.  Deparments schedule classes and calendar events, create custom pages, and much more!
