Does Your Technology Spark Joy?

We think Marie Kondo would agree that the question, “does it spark joy?” doesn’t just apply to physical objects. While we would immediately spring into action as human shields if anyone tried to weed our personal book collections, we are all for applying the KonMari Method to our voluminous and sometimes duplicative technology. Attend our session to learn how to technologically pare down your digital toolbox with best practices for inventorying, evaluating, and ultimately simplifying both your personal and professional lives. Topics that will be covered include, but are not limited to: distance learning, classroom instruction, learning management systems, apps, photo storage, file storage, to do lists, workflow management, online polling, calendaring, and social media. We will also incorporate principles from Marie’s forthcoming book “Joy at Work: Organizing your Professional Life.”

Attendees will leave the session with renewed resolve and confidence to hit the delete/uninstall button, tips on evaluating technology, and tools to take back to your institutions to help your colleagues similarly assess their joy.
