LII Under the Hood: The Innovation Red Queen's Race

Technologists dream of bringing to bear the fruits of research in order to solve hard problems in the real world. But success can set the stage for failure when the most wildly popular projects demand an increasing proportion of resources to maintain. This session will give some examples of LII's death-by-success challenges as the start to a conversation about planning for the entire lifecycle of new initiatives.

Attendees need not have any knowledge of technology (but we will mention some!); we hope that all will walk awy from the session having thought about how better to foster, steward, and know when to sunset innovative work.
